Lego Star Wars- Droid Tales Announced

When I was at Dad 2.0 last week, one of the cool events was an outing to the LucasFilm Studios in the Presidio.  There, we were introduced to some Embargo'd material, including about 44 minutes worth of never before seen video.

One of the videos we watched was from the upcoming Droid Tales, which is an amusing set of episodes intended to retell what happened in the 6 movies, and as a way of getting the younger generation caught up to speed on what happened in those movies (if you've been in a coma for the last 6 months, there's a new Star Wars Film coming out this year!  And kids/potential toy buyers need to know what's going on!)

I'm happy to say that the stories that we saw looked very clever and funny, and had lots of in-jokes and irreverent humor to keep parents happy (but not too irreverent!)  There are some very funny meta-jokes that comment on the plot, and happen at just the right moments.  I would say more, but I think the shows we saw are still embargo'd.

We plan on watching these (and the original Star Wars movies-- we've seen the first two, and I suppose I will have to lift my ban on the second three.  I don't want my son to be a cultural dolt!

And I want him to share in my disdain of JarJar Binks.

The show will air on Disney XD.  At this point airdate is not announced, but it will be plenty of time before the December 18 of The Force Awakens, the 7nth Star Wars movie.

And for those of you just coming out of that coma, here's the trailer for The Force Awakens.
