Australian theatre company Patch, an award winning and amazing company from Adelaide which specializes in theatre for kids 4-8, is coming to my favorite NY Kid's Theatre, the New Victory Theatre for a limited run of 5 performances -- and it's this weekend, so you better hurry! BUY TICKETS RIGHT NOW
The show they are bringing, Me and My Shadow, has clever visual staging, and lots of play about the central idea of light and dark. The show is presented in the form of a visual poem for children, telling its story using the languages of paper, light, shadow, colour, water, music, sound and words. With fantastical imagery, quirky physical performances and an intriguing score, Me and My Shadow seeks to ignite the imaginations of 4-8 year olds in a poetical experience that explores the frustrations and joys of friendship.
Says the director of the theatre, Dave Brown, “We aim to create sensory experiences with universal stories that appeal to both the young and the young at heart. We identified the playfulness of light as relatable and universal, appealing to many senses and comprehension levels."
Because Patch is a teaching theatre, here's some teaching resources that they provide for Australian theatres. Some fascinating stuff!

And here's a video that Patch put up on Youtube.
